A Single-use item is one that you use only one time and then throw it away. It is something that could have a lifespan of just a few seconds like the bag that holds an individual snack size of chips or candy. Regardless of how long the lifespan is in minutes, hours, or days, if it is designed to be used just once then it means we are adding to the garbage problem every time we use a single-use item.
As our population grows, we produce more and more garbage, and Earth is not getting any bigger. Finding replacements for single-use items is a way to be a part of the solution. You can download the activity sheet below to test out your knowledge and spark your imagination of creating replacements for anything single-use. Have fun!
