These two fabulous authors have done it again. I love the big, bold collages. The colors just jump off the page. But what is truly special about this book is the way it takes complicated and complex subjects and breaks them down into easy to understand concepts for students. I appreciate the definitions included throughout the book and the great examples that make the ideas come to life. This is an excellent book for any classroom, library or family bookshelf!

A ‘look at the big picture’ book that successfully breaks down complex concepts into a form children can comprehend and keep them engaged. With so much misconception surrounding climate change helping people understand what it is and what we as a human race are doing or not doing to contribute to this is essential.

EXCELLENT! People of all ages can easily learn about such important information in this book. I love the way it gives concrete, relatable examples and makes you think about everyday things you can do too. I wish I had a book like this when I was in school. The author and illustrator make a tough subject interesting & enjoyable. And motivating!

This is one of those rare books that makes you want to stand up and clap when you finish it.
A Kid’s Guide to Economic Activism for the Climate does something incredibly powerful: it takes concepts that are often confusing even for adults—like GDP, supply and demand, scarcity, profit and loss, shareholders vs. stakeholders, and market disruption—and explains them in a way that is clear, engaging, and empowering for kids.
What I loved most is that this book doesn’t just teach vocabulary—it teaches confidence. It shows young readers that they are not powerless, and that their choices, voices, and collective action truly matter. The tone is hopeful, encouraging, and practical, with thoughtful “Let’s Think” prompts that invite real conversations between kids and the adults in their lives.
The illustrations are also beautiful and full of personality, making the content feel warm and accessible instead of heavy or intimidating.
If you’re looking for a book that helps kids understand the world and believe they can change it, this is it. I genuinely wish there had been a book like this when I was growing up—because it doesn’t just teach economics or climate awareness… it teaches the next generation how to lead.
Highly recommend for families, classrooms, and anyone raising kids who care deeply about the future.

A Kid’s Guide to Economic Activism for the Climate is the second book in the climate crisis series authored by this mother/daughter duo. This book deals with economics and how it affects the world’s climate and what you as an individual and community can do to improve the health of our climate. The book is extremely well written and illustrated. The vocabulary related to economics and how it relates to climate is very clear and understandable. Words such as economics, microeconomics, supply/demand, shareholders/stakeholders, sustainability, and refuse are just some of the words discussed. To help understand the content three icons are used to assist in guiding thinking, The icons are: 1. Sunny the Spark shows new ideas 2. Curious Quinn asks why this matters for climate change and 3. Vista Vera
assists in seeing the big picture, In addition to providing excellent information regarding how economics influences
climate change, actionable measures that a middle schooler as well as groups and the community can take to combat climate change is emphasized.
I highly recommend this book. It offers a comprehensive look at the economics of climate change and provides the next generation with the vocabulary and knowledge needed to build a sustainable and greener environment.

A Kids Guide to Economic Activism For The Climate is a super guide to all-things economic in support of climate activism! The book is written to engage mature readers of all-ages. It’s a wonderful book to read together as a family. Terms are explained and there is a glossary to reference as well. The “thinking” and “zooming” activities are great in supporting inter-generational conversation with ideas for all age groups. I appreciate that there are so many examples of the actions we can take in both small and large ways everyday to support a healthier environment. Kimberly’s narrative is well-told and engaging. Luna’s artwork is bright, colorful and a perfect complement! I’d consider gifting this book to adult and child readers alike!

This book could not come at a better moment! When the stakes are so high it is imperative that we teach our children (and for many adults-ourselves too!) about economic activism in an easy to grasp manner. Kim eloquently explains and Luna masterfully illustrates as they both engage and educate.
Bravo for this just in time product to be read again and again.
